Succeeded in getting positive coverage in multiple local and national media outlets, in print and online. Implemented Google & Facebook ads to increase traffic to our online presence. Engaged NZ food bloggers to promote the events in a collaborative & mutually beneficial way, having them guest post for the Out Standing blog as well as promoting us on their own blogs. Obtained sponsors who supplied us with prizes for attendees, creating extra incentive to participate on our Facebook page. My existing graphic design, blogging, writing & photography expertise helped drive over 2000 unique visitors to the official Out Standing website after working with the team for just over 2 months part time, on a brand new project with a $2,700 media budget.
Tutored classes on the process of academic media research, helped mark student work and provided ongoing support for students and the lecturer. Assessment was restructured so I took lots of initiative to guide students through, thus tutor evaluations showed that a majority of students felt feedback was helpful.
This was the second time I was working with Babak, intercoding media articles for a content analysis of newspapers. The study looked at dehumanisation & re-humanisation of the “other” in news media before, during and after conflicts.
