I implement policies and procedures for the camp. With help from the assistant director, I interview and hire staffers, raise camp enrollment with programming, plan and implement staff training for new and returning staff, and help teach team building, ice breakers and group activities to staff.
My daily and weekly duties included: creating programming areas and creating a schedule for staff to follow, cabin assignments and camper check in, day campers check ins and pickups, dealing with issues amongst staff and dealing with behavior problems, knowing where campers are at all times, and speaking with parents.
I am also responsible for working with the assistant director to complete a written evaluation of: all staff and camping program for each week of camp and present written evaluation to the Camp Committee and Board of Directors at the end of the camp season.
