Managing Editor

Jacksonville Magazine

I'm a highly creative self-starter who loves writing about all things lifestyle—from the latest food trends to the best color to paint a bedroom. I thrive in creative environments and hope to one day retire to a beach house, surrounded by puppies, designer shoes and an endless supply of Vosges chocolate.

Jacksonville Magazine

Managing Editor

In addition to writing, editing and formulating content for Jacksonville Magazine and all of its sister publications, I am responsible for managing a team of freelance writers, interns and editorial assistants. The most fun part of my job is the chance to write about a variety of topics—from food to finance—and meeting some seriously amazing individuals. In addition to Jax Mag, I am responsible for editing Bride (a twice-yearly bridal publication), YourHealth (a quarterly health and fitness publication), 904 (a bi-monthly business publication), Home (a twice-yearly home supplement) and Taste (a twice-yearly food publication).

American Independent News Network

Journalism Fellow/Staff Reporter

In 2010, I was awarded a six-month fellowship through the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to cover politics for The Florida Independent, a non-profit investigative news site. That fellowship eventually turned into a full-time job and one of the highlights of my career. As one of four reporters in the state (the organization's only female), I had the chance to delve into a number of topics—from reproductive rights to mercury poisoning in the Everglades. I also penned series of stories on Congressman Vern Buchanan that were eventually cited in a House Ethics Committee report on contributions to his 2006 and 2008 campaigns.

Southern Methodist University

I spent my first year of college at SMU, a gorgeous school in Texas with a stellar journalism program. Though I loved my time in Dallas, I had to come back home suddenly when my mom underwent brain surgery.
