About Kathleen Griffith, Managing Director of Business Development, mcgarrybowen
Kathleen brings a rich background in award-winning, highly effective client advertising, with a focus on women’s marketing, and a fearless knack for innovation from her time in the entrepreneurial space.
She joined creative ‘Agency of The Year’ mcgarrybowen directly from the entrepreneurial world, where she worked on incubating and nurturing the development of transformative start-ups in the women and social spheres. At mcgarrybowen Kathleen oversees the agency’s account acquisition strategy and is committed to driving organic growth, building out new capabilities and marketing the brand.
Prior to that, Kathleen was Senior Partner, Global Account Director at Ogilvy & Mather where she was responsible for aligning Kimberly-Clark's global proprietary offerings with the network’s top local markets worldwide to ensure seamless integration.
Before Ogilvy, Kathleen managed the General Mills Pillsbury business at Saatchi & Saatchi, a role that allowed her to deeply immerse in and gain a solid understanding of modern day female consumers’ needs.
Her work has been recognized with awards, including a Cannes Gold Lion and an Effie.
A champion of women’s causes, Kathleen has spoken on panels, including a PRWeek Roundtable (alongside execs from Rent the Runway, Cosmopolitan and IKEA) that explored the inner female fearless. She has also launched and helmed many of her own successful ventures, including debuting her own T-shirt line, Deux, alongside Charlotte Ronson during Fashion Week. Kathleen proudly serves on the board of directors for Sacred People and manages advertising for Leonardo Di Caprio’s Foundation and The Water Tank Project.
Kathleen graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and now resides in NYC.
