About Bonnie McDaniel, Television Talk Show Host, ION Network & Founder, Women Are Talking Initiative
Bonnie McDaniel is the founder of Women Are Talking Initiative, a virtual global space where women can support one another to share knowledge, experiences, and resources. She is also the Editor in Chief of Recipes for Good Living Magazine, a food and lifestyle magazine for the modern family. Bonnie began her early career in the field of technology and was the Executive Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Informatique Sans Fil, a French-based software development firm who designed logistics software for mobile computer devices where she headed up US operations.
Having foresight for the future of communications, Bonnie combined her acumen for lifestyle with her extensive computer marketing background to develop the concept for Recipes for Good Living Online Magazine in 1998, and the Women Are Talking Initiative blueprint in 2008. Recipes for Good Living online magazine was launched in May 2010.
As a part of her community activism, Bonnie developed a national mentoring program for mothers and daughters for American Mothers, Inc., where she was nominated as Mother of the Year for the State of Virginia. She formerly sat on the board of directors for St. Stephens, St. Agnes School in Northern Virginia, was the director of two teen organizations and created the Mother Daughter Retreat program entitled Transitions through which over 800 mothers and daughters gained counseling and support, specific to girls during the adolescent years.
During the Clinton Administration, Bonnie was called upon by the White House to lend her voice to the Initiative on Youth Violence following the Columbine tragedy.
She sits on the board of directors for George Mason University’s School of Music (Friends of Mason Music FOMM).
Bonnie is a television talk-show host and a television contributor, currently serving as a segment contributor for ABC’s WJLA Let’s Talk Live and Fox Channel 5 Morning News. She is also speaker and workshop facilitator, focused on family lifestyle and issues concerning women and girls.
She was the communications editor for Family Digest magazine, is a freelance writer for Harris Publications who publishes 9 print magazines and the author of In the Eye of the Storm: A Celebration of Family and The Real Purpose of Home.
Bonnie’s new book on women’s empowerment will be published in the fall of September 2013.
