Director of Government Relations

In June of 2013, I was the first government relations hire for Lyft, joining the company when there were less than 60 employees and tasked with building a policy effort and team that needed to scale as fast as the company would. In the next year, I successfully led the effort to enter and green-lit over 50 markets, including markets that competitors had unsuccessfully tried to enter for years and our team grew from one to 25.

Working at the forefront of transforming an incumbent industry is a singular experience and on the team we liken it to working on a presidential campaign, with no end date. political staffer

and student

For a decade I worked on countless campaigns and for various elected officials to learn from the experts how to negotiate social change within government. From Congressman Honda, to Houston Mayor Bill White, to my friend, John Whitmire, the longest serving State Senator in Texas, I learned that a love for politics to create change not only runs in my family, it runs through my veins.

Stanford University

Bachelor of Arts, Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity

I designed my major around social justice issues studying everything from affirmative action to the foster care system. I co-founded a chapter of Sigma Theta Psi, a multicultural interest sorority and led the effort for the first community center at Stanford, El Centro Chicano, to fundraise on its own. But I came alive when I joined and performed with Los Salser@s de Stanford.
