Creative Director

Asian Students in America (ASIA) is the first pan-ethnic, non-Asian exclusive Asian American student organization on the Syracuse University campus since 1979. We are a politically, socially, culturally active and community service-oriented organization.

Responsible for the conception and creation of all promotional material for events and meetings throughout the academic year. Ensured flyers, kiosk posters and programs are printed and distributed prior to each event/meeting. Completed promotional material in a timely manner.

ALINE Magazine

Art Director

Oversee the editorial layout, photography and artwork of the magazine. Responsible for brainstorming visual concepts of each issue of ALINE. Work with graphic designers, illustrators and photo editors to coordinate the images to the concept of the article and layout of each page and spread.

The Stand

Graphic Designer & Teacher Assistant

The Stand is an online South Side community newspaper that is written for and by South Side residents. As the voice of the South Side community of Syracuse, the paper aims to start a community conversation online by inviting residents of the South Side to share their stories. The paper is the brainchild of the South Side Newspaper Project, a collaboration of the South Side Community Coalition, Syracuse University and a number of dedicated South Side community residents.

Work closely with the directors and editors to finalize the monthly newspaper layout. Teach SU Newhouse student reporters how to use InDesign and oversee their layout pages for the paper.

Wishmakers on Campus at Syracuse University

Advertising Director

On behalf of Make-A-Wish® of Central New York, as a campus branch our organization would raise awareness and funds exclusively so that Make-A-Wish Central New York continues to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Create graphics and design external materials for projects and meetings that promote the organization. Volunteer and attend the events that raise funds and awareness for our cause.

ITS Spiders

Graphic Designer

ITS Spiders is a subdivision of Syracuse University’s Information and Technological Services department. Student developers, designers, and programmers come together to create websites for S.U.’s various departments and organizations. We work in an environment that promotes learning, teaching, and having fun while doing it.

Design graphical layouts for web/social sites and produce detailed, quality logos, images, and branding for web media. Currently working with the Communications Manager of ITS in designing an interactive IT report for the university that can be viewed on the iPad and web.

ZIPPED Magazine

Art Director

Zipped is a fashion and beauty based magazine that reaches college-aged students on the Syracuse University campus. Known for identifying trends, providing the latest news on fashion, and touching on critical issues within the fashion and beauty industry, Zipped is a forward-looking student publication that provides a medium for the fashion-minded population at SU.

Oversaw the editorial layout and artwork of the magazine and is responsible for brainstorming visual concepts of each issue of ZIPPED. Worked with graphic designers and photo editors to coordinate the images to the concept of the article and magazine.

The Supply at Syracuse University

Media Coordinator

The Supply is a non-profit organization targeted towards spreading awareness about educational injustices and raising funds that will go towards providing educational opportunities for oppressed children internationally. The Supply Chapters are a group of individuals who believe that education has the power to transform impoverished communities and change lives. By providing educational opportunities for these children, they can realize their full human potential and become the supply in their own communities, enacting great change. The hope is not only to just raise funds, but also to inspire others to see education as a call to action.

Designed posters, brochures and banners to promote the organization and raise funds for Matopeni Secondary School. Volunteered and attended the events and meetings that The Supply held.

University Union

Graphic Designer

Entirely student run, UU is the university's official programming board that schedules events from annual concerts to weekly cinema showings for the student community.

Work with the organization's directors and Promotions Board to design promotional material (posters, logos, t-shirt designs) for events like concerts, movie screenings, and live performances. For their annual Juice Jam event, I designed some promotional items for the performers Calvin Harris and Childish Gambino.

Apple Computer Student Representative

As an Apple Store student representative, I educate customers about Apple products and which product is best for them. I use my creativity and skills to develop marketing plans, videos, and events showcasing Apple products. I'm part of the Apple Sales Training Program, which is where I complete a series of courses to earn points and attain levels of achievement in order to demonstrate my proficiency as a sales representative for Apple products.

CHAOS Magazine

Designer

CHAOS Magazine is an international fashion & art publication that showcases talent from around the globe. The quarterly online magazine delivers articles, interviews and fashion editorials designed for the fashion lovers, aspiring models, musicians, photographers, and artists alike.

I work with the Editor-in-Chief with designing the fashion editorials for the online magazine as well as the website's Daily Dose. Daily Dose consists of fashion editorials that don't make it to the magazine, but are published on the site every couple of days. I place photos, work with typography, and incorporate graphic design aspects to the editorials. I design around ten editorials for each magazine issue and three editorials each week for the Daily Dose.

The Onandagan yearbook is Syracuse University's school yearbook that gets published towards the end of every school year. I helped organize the content of the pages and designed some of the pages of the yearbook.

A-LINE Magazine

Contributing Writer

A-Line Magazine is the expressive voice for Asian students on the Syracuse University/SUNY-ESF campus. It aims to bring the Asian and Asian American experience closer to campus, and to educate the SU and larger Syracuse community on issues pertaining to race and diversity. The magazine publishes an issue every semester.

As a contributing writer, I worked with the various editors and wrote articles of various cultural, social, economic and political issues that pertain to Asian Americans today.

College Magazine is a magazine aimed towards college students. Written entirely by students and for students, it covers real issues that affect the campus community nationwide. The guide offers academic and career advice, student features, sports coverage, celebrity interviews and more.

I wrote a weekly blog for the Success section of the online magazine and wrote about how students can get ahead over the summer time.
