Product Development Manager

Designing and leading all denim/non-denim product development and sourcing activities. Position includes coordination whole subjects between customers and suppliers. Working with major customers such as; Mavi, Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry, Gant, Armani and Zegna in first hand. Reporting directly to Product Development Director.
Job definition includes;
Following and applying latest trend ideas for company and customers collections..
Coordinating dialogs between sales, product development and research development teams in house and between suppliers in order to get ideas beforehand.
Working closely with laundry to achieve better performance of fabric-wash conformity for denim products.
Following sample production steps to improve target efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Leading one major project;
Project Jeanious. Project leader of 12 people including engineers, designers and production specialists in a collaboration with a denim fabric manufacturing company research and development team. The aim of this project is to discuss concepts, new ideas as well as to create product prototypes.

Fabric Purchasing (Chief)

Managed an annual 45 million euro business of fabric (local and overseas) and accessories (only overseas) with Fabric Purchasing Manager. Leaded all aspects of procurement and post purchasing actions over 200 suppliers all over the world. Worked closely with planning dept for strategic planning/purchasing decisions and quality assurance team in order to achieve better production performance. Generated KPI reports monthly to present Board of Directors.
Completed one major project;
Supplier Performance Evaluation system was created. With the help of this system all fabric suppliers were started to evaluate and classify. Outcome of this project was used as a major data for sourcing and purchasing decisions.

Fabric Quality Control and Warehouse (Chief)

Managed a team of 30 staff (4 white collars, 26 workers) under Fabric Warehouse and Quality Control Department. Generated new stock movement reports. (Reported directly to Management Systems Coordinator).
Three major projects completed in success;
Company’s fabric stock keeping and recording system has changed and adapted to an computer based system within 10 months.
Fabric warehouse storage system completely reorganized. (Including selves and forklifts)
Planning and Organizing movement of Fabric Warehouse and Quality Control Department from Istanbul to Çerkezköy facility in two months. (5 million meters fabric + all quality control equipments were transferred)

Analyzed/optimized fabric sourcing and planning topics. Traced customer needs and their critical stock levels. Coordinated service between production and sales teams. Managed fabric movement in-house and/or between Erak and its sub constructors. (Reported to Planning Manager)
Fulfilled two major projects in success;
Fabric usage report. Presented to Board of Directors (Covering 6 months orientation period an all departments and facilities)
Determining effectiveness of the standards using for fabric shrinkage and test methods on production
