My duties as a mail processing clerk entailed but were not limited to the preparation of incoming and outgoing mail for distribution. I examined, sorted and routed mail. I loaded, operated and occasionally adjusted and repaired mail processing sorting and canceling machinery. I bundled, labeled and routed mail to designated areas depending on destinations and according to established procedures and guidelines. I operated computer scanning equipment and optical character readers. I also kept records of shipments, pouches and sacks as well as performing other duties related to mail processing with in the Postal Service.
