Individual Taxpayer Advisory Specialist

Assist and advise taxpayers on a wide-range of IRS tax forms, notices and issues.
Research and respond to a variety of tax law questions based on customer inquiry.
Research tax issues and properly adjust taxpayers' accounts. Interact with the general public, taxpayers and/or their representatives, tax practitioners and accountants, via face-to-face, telephonically and/or in writing. File tax returns for customers who meet specific criteria. Review forms and notices and advise customers based on the information ascertained in those forms. Retrieves transcripts of accounts, accepts cash and issues receipts, prepares daily cash transmittal, processes requests for copies of tax return and assist with federal tax deposit requests. Determines and explains the status of taxpayer's account, explains notices and takes necessary corrective action if appropriate. Performs research, analysis and necessary computations, to recommend adjustments to customer's accounts, make adjustments as appropriate, initiates credit transfers, payment tracers, re-computes tax, penalty and interest, prepares manual refunds and makes abatements. Takes cash and non-cash payments, reconciles the payments with the statements and enters all payments into RS-PCC for processing.

Provide a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public which may include but is not limited to areas such as the main building, outlying buildings, grounds, parking areas, stairways, tunnels, mechanical areas, or patient treatment areas. Respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations. Escort persons and assist facility personnel. Be alert for activities, which could result in injury to a person or damage to or loss of property. Communicate effectively with diverse people including clients or their representatives, client employees, visitors, or client vendors. Write accurate, clear, and legible reports. Maintain a positive working relationship with facility staff members. Maintain a thorough knowledge of a facility and where applicable of multiple facilities. Enforce and abide by all regulations and guidelines of the facility and HSS.

These functions include correspondence and massages, records documents management, printing and duplication, publications and forms management, special orders, receipts, storage and control of classified documents. Also, personnel data control, force management, officer performance reports, awards and decorations, inspecting administrative files, military travel orders and other requirements.
