hinoki & the bird

Server

Hinoki & the BIrd was the compilation and brainchild of Chef David Myers and Chef Kuniko Yagi. The restaurant features a pan-Asian inspired menu of California farmer's market produce and high-quality proteins.

The name of the restaurant is symbolic. "Hinoki" is a type of Japanese cypress tree and symbolizes "roots" or "home," while the" bird" symbolizes "travel." The restaurant, its menu and the entire concept reflects this inspiration.

The bar features an excellent craft cocktail program, managed by Brandyn Tepper and the extensive wine collection is a fun one to peruse.

Bucato

Bucato is run by Chef Evan Funke and Managing Partner Ed Keebler. The Italian-inspired standout features a rotating selection of 100% handmade pastas, fresh and seasonal California produce and the best quality meat and seafood.

All dishes are prepared a la minute and a great majority of the cooking is done over a California almond wood-fired grill, visible to the guest. The food at Bucato is nothing short of extraordinary, while still accomplishing the goal of being plain and simple.

The wine list features Old World selections and is predominantly Italian, with a sprinkling of French.

Salt Air is the newest addition to the REISS Company Restaurant Group. Opening on Venice's hip and trendy Abbot Kinney Blvd in early summer 2013, Salt Air is casual beach bistro serving elevated, yet approachable dishes that are comfortable and familiar.

Chef Greg Daniels, formerly of Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Perry St in New York City's West Village, serves as executive chef.

The menu features a raw bar, with rotating selection of oysters, fresh & exciting small plates, as well as complete entrees. The small production wine list is curated by Bart Miali of El Vino wine shop and the 'cocktail' menu featuring aperitif, fortified wine & bitters cocktails, was created by Brian Butler.

Superba Snack Bar is a high-volume sixty-four seat small plate restaurant in well-known Venice Beach. The daily menu features fresh, local ingredients with a focus on housemade pastas and snacks.

-Oversee fifteen-person front of house staff
-Lead daily pre-service meeting to update FOH on daily specials, menu modifications and product availability
