Manager, Finance, Compliance and Human Resources

As is characteristic of many small office settings, I wear many hats at TFAH. Here is just a sampling of what I tackle daily.

● Manage financial operations for organization; monitor expenditures and income; prepare financial reports for grants and budget vs. actual charts for organizational budget and make recommendations to senior management; report state of finances to board finance committee; assist in creation of annual organizational budget
● Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable using QuickBooks; pay invoices, create journal entries, make bank deposits; respond to staff expense reimbursements; reconcile operating, payroll and credit card accounts monthly; disburse and track petty cash
● Process semi-monthly payroll using ADP and hourly paychecks with QuickBooks; calculate and create payroll deductions, handle pay increases; analyze payroll reports for tax information; calculate additional taxable income and report information for W-2 and 1099 production
● Administer fringe benefits including health insurance, 401k, life insurance, flexible spending, transit and health club benefits; negotiate contracts with brokers, manage contract renewal for organization, lead employee enrollment and educate staff on updates to plans
● Maintain employee handbook; create and update procedures and policies; meet with and orient new staff on policies and explain tax withholding forms
● Oversee annual financial audit; work with outside auditors to ensure organizational accounting procedures are in compliance with GAAP; answer questions and present information as requested; assist in Form-990 completion
● Prepare and file compliance reports including workers’ compensation, employee wage audit, Form 5500-SF, 401k census, Economic Census, health plan audit, business insurance premium audit, business license renewal, nondiscrimination testing and lobbying disclosure
