Provide direct assistance to the Councilwoman by monitoring legislation, communication and being liaison between the Councilwoman, constituents, media, City management, and department heads. Research local and state policy issues and legislation and prepares related reports, propose potential policy idea and draft agenda item. Managed the redevelopment and launch Councilwoman Schipske’s website, supplemental websites on issues of concern and social media outlets in order to making information readily available to the resident of the Fifth Council District.
Led the development and implementation of annual office marketing plans that resulted in a 2% increase in attendance at local events and media coverage.
Executive project oversight: Act on the authority of the Office of Councilwoman Schipske to develop and maintain strategic projects with primary focus on initiatives affecting residents in the City of Long Beach, especially in the Fifth District
Developed and managed marketing approach for district and citywide projects, community benefit campaigns, programs and events
Directed and monitored the development and management of the Councilwoman’s website.
Conducted research on and provide analysis of State and Federal legislation in a clear and concise format.
Evaluated, coordinated and connected residents and community organizations with City resources and services.
Composed, typed, edited, and proofed documents including outgoing correspondence, press releases, memos, informational and promotional materials, letters and reports.
Maintained close working relationships with State and City official, departmental personnel, community partners, and business community
Plan and reconcile office and travel expenses
Directed and managed staff and event committee members with the planning and sponsorship/partnership strategies for City of Long Beach first annual TEDx conference, encompassed 24 speakers, and over 400 attendees
