Procurement Analyst / ISO 9001:2008 Lead Internal Auditor at Aqua Contour Cutting, Inc.
As a hobby of mine, and potential business venture, I founded and currently manage this local popular fishing club.
This club allows me to practice my business management, project leadership and resource management skills.
With the use of SigmaNEST and SolidWorks 3D software, I draw, create, program, nest, and post cut programs for our CNC Laser Machines to produce parts. I also draft from blueprints, 2D and 3D, to create customers' parts for quoting purposes. As a side project, I am leading the development of the company's future website. I have also reconfigured the company's internal website for production tracking processes. This will lead the shop intergration into digital format, cutting down on paperwork loss, mistakes and confusion, and physical material waste. I am also continuing my duties as an Internal Auditor, working with our Management Team to improve all areas of our company. This promotion offered me new challenges that I am looking for, more involvement in the creative processes, progress in my educational needs, and earned, positive income advancement with the one of the most valued, highly secure job positions available in the company.
As a lead, I trained and led multiple employees, established a scheduling system (that is now used throughout our shop), and improved the overall quality and production output of our powder coating process by establishing standards that are still being implemented today.
This oppurtunity allowed me to develop and progress my team leadership, production scheduling, and operations management skills. I also began my current duties as an ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditor in this position. This promotion provided me with more viable job security as a highly valued team leader and earned, positive income advancement.
My duties as Production Clerk included many data entry and production recording tasks. I also seized the opportunity to learn the basics of AutoCAD 2D Drafting while in this position.
This position created the basis for all my current computing skills. I polished my skills in almost all Microsoft Office programs and data entry with Made2Manage and Peachtree Accounting software. I also established many new document revisions and new production recording methods which are still being implemented today. This job move was a sideways one in value, but the acquired skills opportunities would benefit the company and myself greatly in the near future.
I learned to program and setup the machine, and form, tap, countersink and mill sheet metal in the production process on CNC Press Brakes, Mills, and Shears. During this time, I also learned how to read and interpret blueprints and other drawings, setup and cut metal using a CNC Laser and check parts to Quality Control standards. I learned material, tooling and part inventory techniques along with production scheduling and part developmental processes. This promotion provided me with stable job security and income advancement.
Starting out with the company, I was hired to aid in Shipping and Material Handling labor. I learned many Shipping and Receiving techniques and processes, as well as scheduling, packaging, material type interpretation and handling, and part identification procedures.
My cousin and I started this fun business after high school to keep us employed until we found career jobs. Our largest accounts with local churches kept us in business, while we earned extra profit from residential accounts. I have often gave thought to reviving this business, due to the potential income that it could provide due to the lack of competition to win new accounts.
