CSR, Business Development
My role as Program Manager consisted of the following:
San Jeronimo Bilingual School (SJBS) Scholarship Director: Built close relationship with 55 scholarship families to accurately assess financial need and level of commitment to students' education - majority include single mothers; drove daily and monthly family scholarship activity schedule via complex point system; assessed and tracked individual families' monthly commitments; conducted ongoing home visits to assess changes in families' financial situations; partnered with program representatives to assess and modify current program policies; updated annual application process to allow for more thorough assessment of families' financial situations; conducted intensive annual application and interview process for program participants.
School Administrator at SJBS in Cofradia, Honduras: Oversaw 13 U.S. and Canadian teachers offering pre-K through 9th grade bilingual education to 260 Honduran students; provided day-to-day teacher support, including disciplinary action, parent/teacher communication, classroom support, communication between Honduran and volunteer staff and school board representation.
Team Manager: Served as advisor to 20-person volunteer team living within the same residence hall; coached and led team members through cultural and professional transition; counseled staff on personal and personnel issues; mediated team conflicts.
Supervised account teams and provided strategic counsel for education campaigns, media relations, thought leadership and event management initiatives for multiple clients including the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, INOBTR (“I Know Better”), Bank of America Charitable Foundation and the Business for Social Responsibility (BSR).
W.K.Kellogg Foundation - Managed seven person team as day-to-day lead on account; tracked and drove deadlines for all projects including annual national convening, coalition efforts, media relations, billing reports and strategic thought leadership initiatives; drove client communication daily and on weekly calls
INOBTR - Led account driving a public education campaign in Rochester, NY targeting multiple audiences on the issue of cyberbullying and safe cell phone use habits; met with client in-person monthly; drove all deadlines for campaign including budget, production schedule, material development, launch event and media outreach
Bank of America Charitable Foundation - Developed pitch materials, press releases, talking points and press kits for Bank of America’s signature philanthropy program, the Neighborhood Excellence Initiative
BSR - Developed proposals and secured speaking engagements for senior executives at national and international thought leadership events; secured speaking role at the global biannual conference GLOBE 2012
Drove deadlines and provided significant logistical support for more than 100 national and global pitches; responsibilities included working alongside global senior leadership on all aspects of business development efforts including proposal development, primary and secondary research, design, video and presentation
