BC Public Service
May 2011 — Present
The twenty-five solicitors with whom I work entrust me to assist on the following types of files: expropriation, environmental remediation, provincial infrastructure disputes, Crown land litigation, intellectual property, information and technology, competitive procurement (RFQs and RFPs), and transaction and corporate/commercial. I am highly organized and I am able to multi-task and prioritize my workload. I often assist with highly confidential, sensitive, and detail-oriented tasks including: research, review and summary of policy, case law and legislation. The results of my research are typically provided to the instructing solicitor in a formally written memo that expresses complex and technical information as well as my recommendations, if any. I am also assigned the task of drafting complex pleadings, agreements, licences, contracts, leases, official mark forms, and trademark forms. Over the last year I helped manage the redrafting of a substantial and vital government contract with both the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Technology Innovation and Citizens' Services. Along with the instructing solicitor I have dealt with many stakeholders and our clients including: directors, executive directors, business development managers, and senior legal counsel on these contracts. I managed the amendments to and the final drafting of all of the components of this multi-million dollar contract.
