family

expat, wife and mum

Mumbai is one crazy place to live in. The work visa regulations make it difficult to find a job so I came here and:

- settled in, got to know and love this city
- help out with training wherever I can
- network through expat clubs and social activities
- got married and had a daughter
- organizing meet ups and other events for mums in my area

Grand Hyatt Dubai

Learning & Development Manager

My 3rd year in Dubai brought my second promotion and I became the youngest department head in the hotel. I was now fully responsibility for the Learning & Development function including:
- soft-skills and management training
- development of Corporate Leadership Trainees
- training need analysis
- managing and reporting on the budget
- managing and developing the training team

Grand Hyatt Dubai

Assistant Manager Training & Assistant Training Manager

From Europe to the Middle East and the heart of the hospitality industry, working at the Grand Hyatt Dubai was an incredible experience: 1000 employees of 80 nationalities do not always make it easy to train and entertain, but certainly fun. I had found my passion looking after monthly and departmental training, interns and social activities including annual staff parties.

Park Hyatt Zurich

Corporate Trainee

I wanted to get into Hyatt's Corporate Program since starting my studies. To get it offered at one of its signature properties was my dream come true. An amazing year had me rotate through every department of the hotel as well as take care of projects like the company newsletter and annual employee party. At the end it had become clear: I would specialize in training.

Novotel Den Haag City Center

F&B Allround

Next to my studies I got the chance to an F&B allround job at the Novotel Den Haag City Center. This position meant that I got to look after every Food&Beverage related outlet:
- breakfast in the morning
- restaurant and bar during the day and evening
- Room Service
- setting up, refreshing and break down of conferences and event
- kitchen duties

The Lowry Hotel, Rocco Forte Collection

Front Office Trainee

A new city for a half-a-year internship. Manchester turned out to be an extremely positive surprise and the work at The Lowry Hotel the best that could have happened to me. After my extensive experience in Food & Beverage, learning about the 'nerve center' of the hotel was exciting and completed my insight in hotel operations.

Hotels in Berlin: Albrechtshof - Ku'Damm 101 - Estrel Hotel

F&B Service

After watching TV reports about 5* hotels I was completely hooked. A 2 weeks school internship in housekeeping got me started and after transitioning into Service I was using my weekends serving in restaurants and at functions.

- Albrechtshof: 4* in the heart of the city
- Ku'Damm 101: design hotel on Berlin's #1 boulevard
- Estrel: back then Europe's biggest convention hotel

HotelSchool - The Hague

Bachelor, Business Administration in Hotel Management

After having worked in different hotels and positions next to my A-levels, studying hotel management was an easy choice. The Hotelschool The Hague offered the perfect mix of studies abroad with a great combination of theory and practical application. Insights into operations, marketing, finance etc. with case studies geared towards the hospitality industry - it was fantastic!
