Worked on the Capture Creative project which reached out to London based photographers, and asked them to shoot to a brief we came up with during a brainstorming session. We gave each photographer a HTC One S equipped with an excellent camera suite and asked them to get creative. We then displayed the results during a gallery event spanning 3 days.
As an Ambassador at Microsoft, I worked to promote the Windows 7 brand. We set up kiosks and events across universities and really got word out about the little know powers of Windows. Every week we hosted sessions teaching students about features that came with Windows 7 that were overlooked and not in the conscious aspect of their mind. We also introduced the then new Lumia 800, and showcased its cloud based capabilities (skydrive, office suite) and how they tied in with Windows 7 and how they could help with note taking during lectures
Part of a work experience program by the Social Mobility Fund where my academic performance awarded an internship with Brebners. I shadowed real accountants for a week and got to see the nature of the business and how the theoretic knowledge i was learning was practically applied. I also got to deliver company registration documents to Company House which was cool knowing that for 15-30 minutes i held the seed that would start a company in my hand!
My proudest accomplishment to date has to be leading my team to victory at the East London Finals for the Young Enterprise program. I was the Managing Director for our company and was responsible for a team of 8 people. I had to demonstrate leadership and assert myself to motivate and inspire the team. I made sure that each week we set targets and by next week we achieved them. This was no easy task but i learned important skills in managing people without dictating, inspiring and motivating without lecturing, communicating and resolving problems and conflicts in the group which required me to look at the situation from different perspectives before making decisions. Also juggling management with finances operations and sales ultimately won us the East London Finals as the judges where impressed with the proficiency a group of 16 - 17 year olds could achieve in such a short period of time. We had a patent pending product and an engaging presentation!
