Workforce Development Officer E-Learning

In this role I’m responsible for Blackpool's Councils e-learning provisions.

I have worked on our online learning environment iPool from day 1 for the last 3 years. (This was part of my job before I got a fancy new title)

That means everything from the name and how it looks through to getting the first courses and users online. I currently have over 4000 users active from our own organisation and our partners and I look after these to ensure daily smooth running.

I have also worked with a number of SME’s and from my own knowledge to create or edit over 30 courses that are now live and being accessed and enjoyed by our users.

When creating courses I create all the multimedia content using a number or products currently in standard use are the likes of Flash, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Captivate, Audition, Articulate and a few more lesser known usefully tools as well.

I use the knowledge have learned over the last couple of years to develop not only long term projects but short time, short timescale rapid deployment projects also. I create online standalone courses and learning experiences but also blended solutions that can be tied into the classroom. I use my knowledge of learning theories and methodologies to engage users with the right blend of video, audio, text and graphics to deliver really effective learning solutions. My goal is to continue creating exciting, engaging and memorable courses that have a positive impact on the learner.

I use the skills I have picked up over the years to deliver my courses to the end user in a way which they enjoy and feel comfortable doing so in any environment, classroom or online.

I love what I do I enjoy it and I find it fun, engaging and challenging I just hope I get to keep doing what I love.
