The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows are selected based on their potential for leadership and their commitment to public service in either the public or the private sector. Combining academic study and professional experience, the Humphrey Program fosters a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the United States and the Fellows' home countries. The Program offers Fellows valuable opportunities for leadership development and professional engagement with Americans and their counterparts from many nations.

Deputy Director Corporate Affairs

Overseeing an in-house corporate PR team that handles marketing communication, corporate branding, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and customer service for the tax administration. Managing communication and marketing programs and projects to support revenue mobilization, general tax operations and organization-wide restructuring and tax administration reforms supported by IMF.

+ Promoted and established a new corporate affairs division to handle integrated communication and marketing programs to support revenue mobilization.
+ Increased voluntary tax payment by 40% through a multimedia PR campaign "Know Your Taxes" in 2012/13 fiscal year. MRA achieved 40% revenue growth in 2012/13 fiscal year.
+ Initiated and managed corporate social responsibility program to promote corporate image. The programs doubled community involvement in reporting tax evasion through Tip-Offs Anonymous Service.

Manager Public Relations and Communication

Developing branding, advertising and promotional strategies in line with MRA’s corporate goals and overall Corporate Affairs strategies and goals. Overseeing the production of all corporate publications such as annual reports, newsletter, website and intranet to ensure that staff and stakeholders are kept up-to-date on MRA developments.

+ Successfully marketed the creation of a new office, the Large Taxpayer Office, under the IMF reform program. The office collects 70% of total domestic taxes revenue.
+ Produced and edited a 40 paged quarterly magazine as a medium of communication with stakeholders
+ Organized MRA 10 years anniversary celebrations with the main aim of reminding people the role of the institution in national development and showcase the modernization reforms taking place in the organization. This resulted in tax registration volumes doubling within the next 12 months.
+ Conceptualized and led a team redesigning the MRA website in 2009

Hired to plan and implement Public Relations Campaigns to promote MRA image through events, branding and customer care.
+ Conducted two customer care workshops annually on Customer care for front-line tax staff in coordination with US Treasury experts.
+ Managed MRA pavilions at both local and international trade fairs annually
+ Produced corporate promotional materials to support major campaigns

Project Manager (Public Relations and Advocacy)

Hired to carryout advocacy and awareness campaign for "Access to Economic Justice" project for the local Non-Profit Consumer Organization.
+ Successfully lobbied for the enactment of the Consumer Act and regulations to enhance promotion and protection of consumer welfare in Malawi
+ Created six consumer district chapters to create awareness on the consumer rights and responsibilities and paid membership increased by 150% in 18 months.
+ Introduced CAMA newsletter for members of the association.
