City of Snoqualmie

Planning Commissioner

Served as the City of Snoqualmie Planning Commission Vice-Chair from January 2012 to January 2014 and was once again re-elected Vice-Chair in October 2014. In February 2015, I was elected Chair of the Planning Commission and re-elected Chair in February 2016 and February 2017.

The role of the Planning Commission is to make recommendations to the City Council, and on some issues, make decisions on land use issues. The Planning Commission is primarily involved in long range planning and land use issues, including elements of the
comprehensive plan and zoning regulations.

The City of Snoqualmie and the Planning Commission recently concluded an update to the city's comprehensive plan, "Snoqualmie 2032: The Next Generation." The Washington State Growth Management Act requires that cities develop plans to manage population and urban growth in a 20-year planning horizon. These plans guide city activities and programs, decisions on infrastructure, regulations and budgeting, and embody a vision of the future city that residents wish to leave to future generations.
