Assess, design, build and support Virtual Infrastructures (VI) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructures (VDI) including server and storage platforms
Install and maintain LAN/WAN/MAN hardware and software technologies
Troubleshoots network usage and peripheral issues, supports help desk analysts, resolves connectivity issues, and maintains data and telecommunication connections
Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
Perform daily system monitoring to identify any possible intrusions, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs and backups
Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
Utilizes the electronic health record, health information systems, and healthcare applications
Maintains a good working relationship with medical staff and other hospital departments to achieve optimal service delivery
Serves as primary IS department Subject matter expert for Health Informatics and resource for meeting their clinical information requirements and supporting clinical applications
Consults, advises, and educates all levels of employees including the highest levels of management, on methods and means to make health care operations more effective and efficient
