Development Manager, Advancement and Planned Giving
Leading interdepartmental effort (development, membership and circulation) to more effectively engage community of donors and subscribers efficiently with the goal of conversion to donors and advancement through giving circles. Compile and analyze all mid-level and major gifts campaign data to ensure financial goals are met and assess fundraising strategies. Identify key prospects for major gifts officers through wealth screening and research. Qualify mid-level donors through in-person and telephone contact. Member of CRM transition team to transition donor database from Raiser’s Edge to Salesforce/NGO Connect and integrate with proprietary circulation and membership database. Partner with internal staff and outside consultants to ensure database integrity. Establish best practices for data entry, prospect research and reporting procedures. Provide major gifts officers with updated prospect lists and qualify new and upgraded donors. Meet with local mid-level donors to secure upgraded gift renewal and gala table sponsorship. Manage national portfolio of donors giving $500-$5,000 annually through in-person, email and telephone efforts. Write and oversee production of mail and email campaigns to mid-level and major donors. Write and design all stewardship materials including email newsletters and donor circle welcome packets. Coordinate and moderate reporter phone briefings for major donors. Manage all corporate foundation giving including grant proposals, reports and stewardship. Manage specialized mid-level and major giving donation pages. Create forecasting models for mid-level file and ensure all programs meet budgetary requirements.
Oversee all aspects of planned giving program including budget, direct mail and digital appeals, online and print advertising campaigns, creation of website and cultivation of Mother Jones Legacy Society members.
