USI Commercial

Architectural Field Resource Manager

USI Commercial performs As-Built surveys of commercial (retail) spaces for a number of regional and national clients. My job has three areas of responsibilities. First, I interface with the field resources who are our subcontractors (typically architects or engineers) who go out and survey the spaces. This means that I manage the process of getting them engaged in the project, briefed on the scope of the job, and act as the general project manager. Second, I also supervise a team of drafters who take the field notes and create CAD files and reports on the spaces. Third, I act as a liaison between the production team and our order management team to coordinate project schedules and help to meet client's expectations.

In addition to that, there is some more general management; I assist sales and the commercial operations department in the creation of RFP responses, acquisition of new clients, and creation of the scopes of work.

The Fiberists, LLC

Owner, Dyer, Designer

In addition to my professional work, I am a fiber artist.

As one of the owners, dyers and designers for our business, I dye yarn and spinning fiber for wholesale and retail sale locally and online. I design patterns for use with our yarn and work with other designers to develop a wide range of projects that will introduce our yarn to a broader market. I also manage the business aspects including product and business development, advertising, social media presence and customer relations.

This is a great creative outlet that lets me explore a more tactile design world and allows me to play with colors in ways that I cannot do for other clients in the built environment.
