As my position was newly created because two businesses merged I had my work cut out for me implementing policies and procedures, finding the right HRIS system to suit our business needs, creating inductions, employee handbooks, PD’s , appraisals you name it, it never existed before I started. With a strong focus on Recruitment and Training all new starters use me as first point of contact. Working for a company that pretty much had no head office but over 400 team members has been a challenge but developed some of my key HR skills. Now the HR team is growing and we wonder how the managers survived before we were there!
