Communications & Development Associate

• Spearhead 30th Anniversary events including a speaker series, and giving circle, which raised more than $100,000 in individual contributions to VIP
• Produce invitations, event programs, agenda, and additional materials for agency-wide recruitment events
• Maintain event budgets, correspondence, and attendance
• Serve as a liaison for event speakers, presenters, trainers, photographers, caterers, vendors, and sponsors

Research Assistant

• Compiled current research on the impact of and interaction between teacher and student identities on school performance, particularly for students of color in multicultural school settings
• Summarized and analyzed collected information and data into an annotated bibliography
• Edited, reviewed, and added information as necessary to book prospectus and IRB proposal to be submitted for publication

Summer Intern and Research Assistant

• Used transcribed conversations from focus group discussions to identify common areas in which black students felt unprepared, unsupported, and in need of improvement for their success at Swarthmore College
• Reviewed and summarized scholarly work pertaining to the success and preparedness of black college students at historically white colleges and universities
• Conceptualized future projects that both the Black Cultural Center and Swarthmore College community could implement for the overall success of black students on campus
• Resulted in a webpage, detailing findings and possible solutions to be viewed by the public and administration
