Zone Merchandise Supervisor
June 2003 — Present
I was hired as a cashier in June of 2003 then from 2003 to 2006 I learned multiple departments on the general merchandise side of the store. While I was a cashier I also learned how to run the front end as a customer service manager. In December of 2006 through July of 2007 I transferred to the Jewelry department I then became the Jewelry sales coordinator in July of 2007. During my time as the jewelry sales coordinator I ran the department while the department manager was out on multiple medical leaves. During this time I completed schedules, special orders, and processed our defective merchandise. In March of 2011 I became the zone merchandise supervisor for the home departments and remain in that position presently. As a zone merchandise supervisor I have successfully made plans to flip modular adjacencies in the home departments and executed them. Flipping the adjacencies resulted in a sales increase and gave me the opportunity to write my own floor plans. I also re adjusted the width of aisles in the housewares in order to make room for a seasonal feature space. With the seasonal space I was able to merchandise multiple departments together by setting up a display room. By doing this we sold through seasonal merchandise and received positive feedback from the customers.
