What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Working at Sparxoo has been an incredible experience so far, even though I have only worked here for a short time. I absolutely love the projects I am working on, and the work environment is amazing. I can't wait for what the future holds working for this agency.
I do freelance work for Think Tank, Inc as one of their graphic designers. Think Tank, Inc is a digital agency in downtown St. Petersburg that encompasses many different aspects of design. Most often I work out-of-office, however, occasionally I meet with clients in downtown St. Petersburg to speed up the design process and to understand exactly what the clients expects from a project. Some of the larger projects I have designed include a website for a modeling company and working alongside a retired NFL player to design his up and coming book.
As a graphic designer for Leverage Digital, my job was primarily designing and creating digital media using Adobe Creative Suite. As of now I have created logos, websites, and have done content writing for SEO campaigns. I had the opportunity to design quite a few responsive design sites, and it was a huge learning experience. By researching and following popular trends, and found that I learned a great deal as a designer for the company.
I have created a sole-proprietorship that is the framework of a company I am in the process of building that incorporates both graphic design and branding. Although my company has a name and a face, it is still in progress and I look forward to building it from the ground up. I am constantly editing and revising my website, and always increasing my design experience through developing creative designs.
In the process of building my portfolio, I have taken freelance design work from various companies across the Tampa area. I am currently working on some pretty exciting projects and I am looking forward to showcasing them on my website soon.
I had a wide-range of tasks as the Marketing & Communications Specialist. A days work can range from calling/ emailing clients, setting up future events/ seminars, designing brochures, updating the website, to organizing information and keeping on top of all the social media. Social media ranges from posting blogs, writing articles, restructuring the website, taking photos at events, and even sending out a monthly newsletter. My job also encompassed using tools such as Google Analytics to learn how to target our clients in the most productive manner. By knowing where customers were reaching us, I was able to then better direct the marketing department and provide helpful insight from the statistics given.
This was my summer 2011 internship with Gates World Headquarters in Denver, Colorado. As the graphic design intern for the Marketing Department, I was in charge of some really challenging projects. I held a great deal of responsibility. The graphics projects ranged from designing ads and marketing flyers for the automotive department, to helping integrate the new branding codes to the website and various print documents. Since I was an intern, I was given projects that ranged far beyond my skill set and I took on projects where I had to do a great deal of research to complete. From accounting projects to creating a very complicated app involving complex calculus problems, I learned a wide variety of skill sets. I was given an excellent letter of recommendation and thanked for my time spent with the company.
Coordinated staff at events, worked backstage lighting and sound, sold box office tickets and supervised all box office employees. It was a great job while in my beginning years of college and I learned very early on how to take a leadership role in a job setting. I also learned to develop customer service skills and handle tough situations as a supervisor.
Served coffee and other refreshments with enthusiasm and a smile.
