Sarah Bartley

My name is Sarah and I'm a front-end web developer specializing in building websites with amazing user experiences. I'm looking to connect with companies and individuals who are passionate about UX/UI design.

Disney Women in Tech

Disney is my dream company. I'd love to work for Disney especially for their Consumer Products and Interactive Media part of the company. This video sums up all the reasons I want to work for Disney and what I believe technology should be all about. Technology is ultimately about creating awesome experiences that speak to all users.

Front-end Nanodegree, Web Development

I was awarded one of the 10,000 slots for the Grow with Google program in January. Grow with Google is a partnership between Google and Udacity in order to fill the millions of tech jobs in the USA. During phase one, I learned some of Google's tips for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. In April 2018, Udacity selected me as one of the 5,000 students for phase two which goes over responsive design, React, and Git.

Sarah Bartley

Front-end Web Developer

I began to explore different career options when I discovered coding. Soon I was learning how to code websites with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, & jQuery. I keep working on growing as a developer building web projects and learning new skills.

Knitting for JavaScripters

Sara Regan (my instructor at Skillcrush 104) sent this to me when I started to learn Ruby. Mariko's demonstration shows the possibilities of what can be done with code even with crafts.

Content Creator

I always wanted to start a blog and finally got the courage to start one in 2015. I learned about my passion for writing by researching blog topics, editing posts, and managing social media content. I write weekly topics on a variety of subjects. I recently launched a second blog on my portfolio site which talks about tech, career advice, and crafts.

Sylvan Learning Center

I started to develop my teaching style during weekly tutoring sessions. I motivated and mentored students in order to increase student achievement in reading, writing, and math. I coached high school students on study skills and standardized test prep. I did lots of data collection through the IOS app Sylvan Sync.

Stark County Educational Service Center

Substitute Teacher

I filled in for teachers by managing small groups of students and monitoring student behavior. I taught pre-planned lessons and modified tasks according to individual learning needs. I led classroom aides in group activities and delegated tasks to encourage student success.

University of Akron

Masters of Science, Education

I spent 2 years learning how to modify and accommodate learning for students with special needs. During summer 2009, I learned how to use technology to help special needs students learn academic content. I built and designed a Smartboard lesson based on the book Horton Hears a Who.

Otterbein University

Bachelors of Science, Education

I took an educational technology class during Fall 2004 which introduced me to ways teachers can incorporate tech in the classroom. I worked with two other students to build a web quest unit on The Great Depression and made a website using Dreamweaver software. It changed the way I looked at tech and led to me learning how to use a Smartboard and Elmo projector.
