Design Development and Presentation:

Technological exploration and creation of designs, technical drawings, storyboard presentations, and electronic portfolio. Design Development and Presentation focuses on CAD (computer aided design) software, commonly used in the textile and apparel industry. Specifically, this course explores apparel and textile design using CAD software, such as Adobe Illustrator CS and Photoshop CS. In addition, Design Development and Presentation emphasizes the importance of the design process, critiques, and a professional portfolio.


Design Methods and Approaches: A studio course that exploring and developing cutting-edge techniques and experimentations for apparel designs. Students create and document apparel designs and textiles that incorporate conceptual, innovative, and experimental design elements and methods. The documentation resulting from each project is disseminated within the class for examination and further explorations, as well as resulting in multimedia apparel design portfolios. Students also have opportunities to submit designs into national and international competitions.
