Sara Griffin

Sara Griffin

Assistant Director, Outreach and Corporate Education

Indianapolis, IN

I care. That's why I hold a MA in Philanthropic Studies. Connection is important. I think we should do life together, which is why my career continues to excel in engagement. Finally, I am curious! That's what fuels my desire to learn, grow, and spend my free time reading and writing.

"We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot." Eleanor Roosevelt

Corporate Social Responsibility; Economic Development; Educational programming and outreach; Community engagement; Program development; Project management; Lifelong learning and personal development; Storytelling

In addition to my work in the Office of Community Engagement at IUPUI, I would love towrite children's books based on stories my mom told me, and biographies for successful, Midwestern women. Coming Soon:, a space to feature lifestyle articles and cool things to do around Indianapolis.

Campus Events Coordinator

At IUPUI, I've been committed to connecting campus and community. I've had two promotions, managed projects, hosted events, and built relationships.

Indiana Historical Society

Assistant Coordinator, Education

I spent my time at the Indiana Historical Society sharpening my skills as a project manager and community liaison.

Shakespeare's Globe

Though my shortest, this was maybe the coolest job I've done to date! I sold brochures and managed the floor of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London as part of an internship.

Indiana State Museum

Museum Program Specialist

After college, I began my career at one of my favorite places on earth. The Indiana State Museum is where I learned project management, customer service and why teamwork makes the dream work.

Franklin College

BA, Theater and English

Franklin was the place where I met life long friends, was able to travel, made connections between art and science, and learned a lot about who I am and what I want.

IU Lilly School of Philanthropy

MA in Philanthropic Studies, Philanthropic Studies

After spending some time thinking about what I imagine my career would look like, I decided to jump into an Executive Master's at the IU Lilly School of Philanthropy. I got super charged learning not only how the art and science of fundraising works, but why people give and theories around the sectors that make our cities and communities work.
