Kumon learning centers is the largest after-school math and reading enrichment program for children starting from preschool through 12th grade. There are more than 1,500 individually owned and operated centers in the U.S. and Canada. Kumon contributes towards enhancing the quality of education and life regardless of the background and abilities. The Kumon program consists of weekly packets, each packet done daily for about 15-20 minutes. The worksheets consist of concepts and content that is level-based according to the student’s placement exam.
As a Reading and Junior Kumon Instructor, my job is to educate the students who are younger than seven. I help build the foundation of these young students with sounds of alphabets, consonants, and helping them with critical readings and response. I also take care of making student’s weekly work, conducting placement and level testing, and communicating with the parents to address any concerns or questions. Eventually our main goal is to actively develop critical and self-learning skills among the students.
Other responsibilities for the position are:
• Organizing students paperwork
• Printing and copying supplementary worksheets
• Weekly conducting conferencing and communicating with parents about level testing and placement testing.
