May discuss and coordinate work instructions with employees of other County departments, outside agencies, and the public.
Inspects and reports on a variety of construction projects.
Checks in the field the location of public utilities to avoid interference with construction work.
Keeps material and inspection records as required.
Receives job orders which identify work to be performed and location of the job site, clarifies any questions concerning assignment
Discusses work assignment with other crew members and advises them of unusual conditions to be expected at the site such as possibility of encountering toxic materials, dangers associated with operations to be performed, and precautions to be taken.
Prepares deficiency reports identifying nature of deficiency, tools and materials required and location.
May prepare daily time sheets to develop a knowledge and understanding of the information which must be gathered and recorded for correct completion.
Investigates public complaints as assigned.
Prepares daily work reports and other inspection reports.
