Strategic Projects Director

•Oversee communications and political departments of Doctors Council, a national affiliate of SEIU, pivoting as needed between special projects in marketing, communications campaigns, political outreach, legislative policy review/drafting, press outreach, and special event coordination.

•Led dozens of local and national communications campaigns at 1199SEIU, the largest union of health care workers in the United States, including non-coordinated work to mobilize over 100,000 members in door-to-door efforts to successfully elect Bill deBlasio mayor of New York City and placed numerous earned media pieces in The New York Times, New York Daily News, Wall Street Journal, amongst other publications.

•Rebranded Doctors Council SEIU in concert with larger member engagement campaign, drafting budget and timeline, designing and producing collateral including: new logo, style guide, website, social media accounts, stationery, business cards, etc and garnered several earned media pieces announcing the rebrand including stories in Capital New York, and Crain’s Business NY.

•Leads political program, including our political action committee (PAC), gathering background information on bills of interest, preparing and delivering testimony, vetting political candidates and facilitating meetings with elected leaders.

•Introduced and implemented quantitative data analysis and metrics-based reporting at Doctors Council SEIU, including the adoption of a CRM to gauge internal membership interactions, established KPIs, developed use of mass email marketing tools, such as MailChimp, and Google Analytics to analyze drivers for web traffic and growth opportunities.

•Conduct media spokesperson trainings, write talking points and speeches, and staff special guests and celebrities for events, including Tony Bennett, during the largest anti-gun violence rally ever held in Harlem, NY.

•Supervise internal creative team (3-6 employees) and external PR/creative consultants.
