Communications Associate

•Manage the editorial calendar, research, outreach, drafting, editing and posting of Fresh@YW.

•Editor for the National e-newsletter, including soliciting contributions from national team, editing, compiling and placing content. Facilitate approval process of content and electronically disseminate online newsletter to local associations and national staff; track subscription and open rates for the newsletter on a regular basis.

•Serve as Editor in Chief for the YWCA USA 2013 Annual Conference & Women of Distinction Awards Gala Programs.

•Manage communication intern recruitment process and oversee daily intern assignments.

•Assist in maintaining the YWCA USA Brand Center; ensure that YWCA USA staff and local associations are familiar with branding guidelines and implement them.

•Track and assist with the monitoring of the organization’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, blogs).

•Keep up with articles and blog postings about YWCA USA key issue areas in both print and electronic publications; make recommendations on, and craft responses from YWCA C-Suite Executives and Department Directors.

•Assist with communications campaigns and projects to raise awareness and position the YWCA USA as a thought leader and top resource on women’s and racial issues nationally.

•Maintain communications calendars with key messaging and campaigns, assist with schedule for local association communications and update other editorial calendars as needed.

•Research, draft and edit department communications including programs, press releases, speeches, blog posts, social media and web messages.

•Draft, brand and edit internal communications including communications to local associations, internal memos, newsletters, statements and other materials.

•Support key national events such as Annual Conference, Violence Against Women (including Week without Violence), Stand Against Racism, Purple Purse Campaign with Allstate, and other campaigns.
