Assistant Center Manager at Baltimore County Workforce Development
Provides career development services to a universal population, with a focus on helping customers obtain employment, ensuring that they have the necessary skills to meet the demands of today's evolving workplace.
Conducts hands-on center enrollment assistance and guidance to jobseekers. Facilitates customer access to supportive services, social services, training, education, and employment services as well as job search mechanics i.e.: Job search techniques, Resume writing, and Interview Skills. Administers and reviews skills assessment tests to assess clients’ aptitude, values, interest inventories and training needs for job readiness and prepares clients for entry/re-entry into the workforce. Strong understanding of the current labor market, vocational systems, internet, One-Stop services and One-Stop referral system. Maintains bulletin boards, updating job postings, apprenticeship and training postings, Labor Market and Re-Entry information while coordinating with various teams within the agency to insure uniform resource displays.
Provides delivery of adult jobseeker related services and assist with Workforce Development Center operations.
Provides primary support & back-up to center manager; assume managerial duties and responsibilities during the center manager’s absence. Supervises core service staff and arranges proper resource lab coverage. Represents center at all mandatory meetings. Oversee usage of the Maryland Workforce Exchange data management system; provide assistance to staff. Collaborates with State merit staff on participant data management for mandated EUCREA program and facilitates orientation to EUCREA participants. Assist with facility management as related to upkeep and maintenance of the front desk and resource lab areas. Ensures that customer and staff equipment meet acceptable standards for delivery of services. Assist with human resources / payroll functions as requested. Participates in conducting interviews with prospective employees.
Registered incoming vistors for job seeker services. Provides administrative support to management and staff at Career One Stop Center.(Contracted by Kelly Services; hired by Baltimore County November 17, 2010)
Registered incoming visitors. Directed center traffic flow. Provided back up support to center management and staff. Filed enrollment information and other records while maintaining confidentiality and security. Verified and recorded enrollee’s identifications, resource lab usage, seminar attendance and skills assessment testing results into the MWE database. Operated a multiline switchboard, fielding approximately 300 calls per day from a diverse range of jobseekers. Scheduled jobseeker appointments and assisted with seminar enrollments. Maintained center’s professional seminar calendar. Sent, received and distributed institutional mail, faxes and packages. Replenished/Reordered lab resource materials as needed.

Guest Service Representative Lead
Checked guest in and out of hotel. Served as Manager on Duty and empowered to make operations decisions in the absence of management. Ran daily reports ensuring the accuracy of guest accounts and daily revenue. Posted charges to guest rooms, verified credit cards and identifications, and balanced bank deposits at the end of each shift. Processed incoming phone calls via a multiline switchboard, taking room service orders and also reporting and documenting housekeeping, engineering and guest service requests.
