•Management of large, complex and sensitive claims proactively, efficiently and effectively whilst delivering a customer centric claims service.
•Providing technical support and advice to General claims, Medium claims as well as Large and Complex claims staff.
•Reviews training needs of staff, recommends and approves as necessary
•Reviewing and resolving escalated queries – as a referral point
•Objective setting ,Performance Reviews and Performance Management of Marine Claims department
•Supervision of the reserving process to ensure accurate and realistic loss reserves in line with the company’s Reserving Philosophy
•Supervision of and or appointment of specialist Loss Adjusters, Attorneys, Forensic Investigators and Project Managers for large losses & follow ups
•Internal Reporting to Underwriting, Reinsurance, Finance and Company Executive on all Large Losses per Company benchmarks.
•Monitoring and Managing the claims process to finalization of claims
•Reporting of Monthly , quarterly and any adhoc reports to the Head of Large & complex claims as well as Regional Manager as required
•Management and reporting of all Global Claims to Head Office (Zurich Switzerland )
•Ensures adherence to regulatory and governance requirements
•Ensuring ongoing focus on fraud awareness, detection and prevention
•Participating in market forums
•Authorization and signing off of payments
