Responsibilities as an Archaeologist/Field Director at SWCA Environmental Consultants included: assisting the Project Manager plan and organize field projects, traveling to various states for extended periods of time (up to 6 weeks) and directing field crews of various sizes (2-20 people), conducting/leading archaeological investigations for complex seismic/block/ linear survey projects, effectively communicating with clients/agencies/project managers (providing data as requested such as timely progress updates), ensuring quality control of fieldwork and completed paperwork, training new crew members, and providing Administrative support for crew while in the field. When working at the office/in the lab, duties included: general data entry, digitizing site and isolate forms, creating tables, writing detailed site and isolate narratives and contributing to various report sections, conducting artifact analysis, and completing curation tasks.
