I regularly assist over 200 customers a month with pricing, schedules, supplies and deliveries. I communicate with customers and suppliers by telephone, electronic mail and social media. On a daily basis I handle escalations up to the vice president level and initiate action and follow through to conclusion of any commitment. Through one on ones with my superiors I have been commended for pioneering innovative strategies to resolve tough problems. I am the liaison between managers and customer service representatives to support customers in a timely manner and maintain responsibility for responding to client inquiries. Working in the a customer advocate department has allowed me to multitask various projects simultaneously, and work to deliver successful outcomes.

Program Associate

As co-founder of Performa of Pittsburgh, a non-profit organization that provided private music instruction and music workshops for various cultures at affordable, or no cost, to young people ages six through seventeen, I formed an eleven-member board of directors to manage funding and program operations, and hired and managed four volunteers to teach music and provide administrative assistance. I presided at regularly scheduled meetings of the board of directors and managed an operating budget of approximately $20,000 a year. I applied for and received a grant to promote cultural music awareness. Performa of Pittsburgh partnered with three community libraries to host six-week cultural music awareness events, including 20 students and an audience of approximately 200 people. Private piano lessons were an integral, on-going part of the organization. In this position, I was a fundraiser, the community outreach person and the resource manager. I monitored the budget, donations and correspondence with donors. I led the review of applicants and interviews for staffing positions and for volunteer positions, both clerical and teachers.

Human Resources/Benefits Administrator

As a Benefits Administrator for Carnegie Mellon University, I assisted with the administration of health and retirement plans for 5,000 faculty and staff in four locations. I managed new enrollments as well as changes to individual employees benefits and retirement plans using the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This process included international benefits and retirement coverage for faculty and staff at the Carnegie Mellon campus in Education City, Doha, Qatar. As a Benefits Administrator I arranged wire transfers as high as $1 million for retirement funding between the University and the administrators of its retirement funds, TIAA-CREF and Vanguard.

As an Administrative Coordinator, I organized monthly retirement workshops with TIAA-CREF and Vanguard representatives to meet with employees about their retirement strategies. It was also my job to prepare orientation packets and arrange appointments for new employees to meet with benefits specialists. I provided clerical support to the entire human resources department by answering telephone calls, greeting guests- both employees and visitors to the University, and proofing PowerPoint presentations, e-mails and letters from the human resources department.
