August 2008 — August 2010
I worked as a service writer in busy import & domestic automotive repair shop. My duties included the following, opening the shop every morning disabling alarm system, turning on power, making coffee, getting computers turned on and business ready for work. I then would greet customers, tagging keys, writing up work orders of work or concerns about there vehicle, enter any new contact data into our system invomax, estimate time of completion, arrange shuttle rides, then hand work out to 4 master technicians, and 2-3 hourly employees.
I would while multi tasking answering phones for appointments setting, finding parts for technicians, selling used parts from our used parts racks, generate the technicians notes into estimates for the customer. Once I had all estimates, prices, figured out I would call customers back selling work, up sells, recommended additional repairs to the customers. I would then give sold work to technicians, Oder any needed parts, and arrange completion times for all work. I would also turn all work orders into invoices, collect money, run cards, and close out every invoice in our system. Towards the end of the day it was arranging pick up times for shuttle van, and holding un completed jobs or large up sells or repairs over for time arranged with customers and technicians.
It was a fast paced position that I enjoyed very much. I was making 16.00 $ per hour with a percentage bonus on everything that I sold. I really enjoyed the sales aspect of this position, also it was clean work, with lots of interaction on tech side and customers.
