Gene Juarez Academy
Taking the big steps you do after graduating high school is difficult for everyone in different ways. My difficulty was figuring out what I wanted to do. Fortunately for me my mom was a big supporter and great at throwing out ideas at me. One night while we were sitting at the dinner table she mentioned cosmetology, and it clicked. It checked all the right boxes for me (i.e. move to the big city, be in a social environment, and broaden my horizons), so I jumped right in. I finished my 1,600 hour requirements to earn my cosmetology license in 12 months, took the state board exams and I was on my way to the Gene Juarez Advanced Training Salon (ATS). The ATS not only perfects your skill but it makes you tough. I work very hard to be chosen to assist for one month at two of our flagship salons. Being able to do that not only expanded my mind but I was able to be placed in one of the higher volume salons. Even though I'm no longer in school, I go to all the educational and technical classes that are put on by our company. The hair industry is always evolving and the education never stops, is it up to me to stay current.
