Are you seeking cool internships and living in Chicago? If so, Chance the Rapper might have the perfect opportunity for you! Although we don’t have many details, this is likely a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one of the fun internships.
It’s no wonder the 24-year-old Best New Artist Grammy winner was recently named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People. Not only is he musically talented, but he’s also working to improve his hometown of Chicago. Earlier this year, he announced a $1 million donation to Chicago Public Schools. Just last month, he announced the start of the New Chance Arts and Literature Fund- which will begin with intern program ideas as harsh school conditions as they are today. So far this year, he has raised over $2.2 million for CPS through his Social Works non-profit org, with the Chicago Bulls matching his initial $1 million donation.
This is a significant development; for some time now, Illinois has been having budget issues that have put public schools in peril — as Chance explained during the press conference where he announced the New Chance Arts and Literature Fund, Chicago Public Schools could close down before year’s end due to a lack of funding.
On March 27, Chance took to Twitter to announce that he is ‘looking for an intern, someone with experience in putting together decks and writing proposals.’ One lucky individual will get the opportunity to work closely with Chance as he creates change and makes great music.
As expected, when he put out the call for interns on Twitter, thousands of people started tweeting their credentials at him. So later that day, he tweeted out a few more details: ‘I want intern resumes formatted as creative decks, pitches or proposals,’ with an email to send them to, aiming to offer the coolest internships.
If you want to intern for Chance, you’ll need to be able to compete with other applicants. It won’t be easy, but the opportunity for cool internships is worth it!
