Shop Til You Drop
Everyone thinks millennials are constantly shopping on their phones since they do everything on their phones. But new data reveals that this is actually not true. The majority of millennials actually like to make their purchases in brick and mortar locations with only 16 percent of them making most of their purchases on a phone. And even more surprising it is younger millennials, ages 20-23, that are shopping in the stores and the older crowd, 32-35, that make purchases through mobile. And millennials are all about saving a buck! Most of them try to find a coupon before a purchase, especially for online shopping. This makes sense considering how much this generation likes fast fashion discounted retailers like Zara and H&M.
Get Your Rubber Ducky Out
You may have noticed that in most parts of the country this week, it has been a little warm. In fact, it's been friggin' hot. We went from a pretty coldish spring to Mad Max heat in like 5 hours. It can be a real rude awakening for any of us that use our commute to and from work as a form of exercise or just like to workout outside in general, but there may be a hack for you though it sounds a little odd: Take a hot bath before working out in the heat. The study finds that heat acclimation is actually really good for you when exercising. “You will receive a bigger bang for your buck from acclimating to the heat rather than by temporarily cooling yourself down,” concludes Carl James, the lead researcher of the study. You could even take the bath after the workout too to get the benefits. But do not take this as advice to drink a scalding hot coffee while wearing a wool hat and then go running because that is just not smart.
Nurses and Burritos
It is a good day to be a nurse. It's always good to be a nurse as they have a super important job of helping to save lives but today they get a free burrito for doing it. Chipotle is offering all nurses (RN, NP, CRNA, CNS, CNM, LVN, CNA) a “buy one, get one free” deal for a burrito, bowl, salad, or order of tacos. Not too shabby. Nurses take care of people day in and day out and we want to do our small part to take care of them,” said Mark Crumpacker, chief marketing and development officer at Chipotle. “Their jobs aren’t easy, but hopefully this small gesture makes lunch or dinner a little easier and a little tastier.” An apple a day may keep the doctor away but a free burrito on the side of your other burrito, burrito bowl, salad or tacos will keep the nursing checking in on you really happy. That's not a saying, but it should be.
