Wondering which jobs millennials covet the most? SmartAsset, which defines millennials as those between the ages of 25 and 34 in the year 2016, looked at data for 327 occupations that employ at least 50,000 people to determine just that. Believe it or not, statistician has the most millennials among its ranks at 44%.
It's not the highest salary, but it is one of the cooler jobs. There are around 454,000 bartenders in the U.S., and 190,000 are filled by millennials.
3. Financial Analyst
But if you want to make a little more money and like working with numbers than this is the job for you with an average salary of $82,000 per year.
4. Advertising and promotions managers
Millennials are all about advertising. Millennials make up 40% of this job category.
5. Emergency medical technicians and paramedics
Looks like millennials love a job with an adrenaline rush. There is actually a TV show coming out in early 2018 called 9-1-1 about these very people. With 194,000 EMTs and paramedics in the U.S. about 38%, or 75,000 of them are millennials.
6. Physician Assistant
This job continues to be one of the most popular amongst millennials as it provides a great salary and an important role in the medical field (without all the student debt that comes with four years of med school.) Thirty-eight percent of millennials make up this job category.
7. Web Developers
Good old web developers. As we know, the internet is booming so there is plenty of need for this role. A little less than 38% of all web developers are millennials.
8. Market research analysts and marketing specialists
Millennials love some good market research. They make up 37% of this group.
9. Television, video and motion picture camera operators and editors
Millennials also love television a lot so why wouldn't they want to be a part of it? Compared to the other categories the number of millennials involved in this field is on the lower side but with more jobs popping up due to more content platforms popping up that could change soon.
Adrenaline and heroism? Good combo. Out of 252,000 firefighters in the U.S., 90,000 are millennials.
