As a permanent substitute, we receive our assignments through Aesop. Assigned to teachers who are going to be absent at our various campuses throughout the district.
My duties to the school district as a Permanent Sub are to train the new substitutes three or more times a year. Provide them with information that will help them to handle a room full of students from Pre-K to Seniors, including Life Skills, Inclusion and all the various subjects in between.
Daily duties include arrive at assigned school on time. Acquaint oneself with sub plan and all the material you are to use, Greet the children at the door. If there is not a sub plan it is my job to quickly speak to teacher next door or principal to get a plan together for the day. Leave notes in regard to children's behavior good or bad.
My duty is to provide the teacher with the confidence that their lesson plan is being followed and they won't have to reteach that days lesson.
