Leading Educators

Manager, Strategic Consulting

Leading Educators is a national non-profit that delivers job-embedded professional development, in adult leadership and standards-based instruction, helping effective educators lead across their schools. My role is to assess & prepare new districts for the work of executing professional learning cycles, grounded in instructional priorities.

University of California, Davis

Bachelor of Arts, Sociocultural Anthropology

I began as an anthropologist, fascinated by the creation of identity, seeking to both understand & celebrate difference. Reflecting on my own lived experience across both public & private education, I soon recognized a correlation between certain difference & lack of access. It has since been my mission to create conditions for equitable schools to thrive.

Experience other worlds.

Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer - so travel often, and do so with an open mind.

Do less, better.

Essentialism, minimalism, prioritization - whatever you call it, it's about living more intentionally so we can focus on what's most important.

Practice interruption & inclusion.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Become, don't just be.

“Why waste time proving over and over how great you are, when you could be getting better? Why hide deficiencies instead of overcoming them? And why seek out the tried and true, instead of experiences that will stretch you? The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well, is the hallmark of the growth mindset.” - Carol S. Dweck
