- Guides refugee claimants through the refugee determination process and gives help with settling into the community.
- Provides families with initial orientation and emotional support.
- Provides in-office support to families by assisting with filling out the online Ontario Works application forms, referring refugee claimants to local shelters and food banks.
- Refers clients to counselling centres, and other social services as needed
- Assists families to access local community resources, follow up and act as liaisons with service providers.

- Provides free legal assistance for refugee claimants.
- Provides refugee claimants with accurate information about the refugee claim process, the hearing, preparation for the hearing, and what to expect post-hearing.
- Gives refugee claimants direct, one-on-one support when filling out all refugee related applications (for example, Claim for Refugee Protection, Personal Information Form, Work Permit, Interim Federal Health, Humanitarian and Compassionate Grounds application, Pre-Removal Risk Assessment and Legal Aid applications).
