Legacy Online is a social enterprise which aims to bridge the generational gap between our older and younger generations by celebrating the stories and successes of our senior citizens.
We believe every individual has invaluable experiences accumulated over a lifetime and deserves an opportunity to share them with the next generation. Legacy will give our elderly citizens a platform to share first-hand experiences of major events, personal struggles, accomplishments, specialized knowledge and creative projects with a large audience.
Publishing their life stories will be a step into the online world of the 21st Century. No longer do they have to be consumers of traditional media. They can also be content creators with a nationwide audience.
Our core initiative is to collect and preserve every senior individual’s life stories, wisdom and achievements for the empowerment and education of our youth. Through the process of publishing these stories on our website, we aim to develop a solution that is able to aid our senior citizen community to collate their experiences, share them with their families and society and snowball a new revolution to create their own legacies. Our services will consist of volunteering, community events, and technology related workshops.
This social venture is a winner in 2013’s Spark Ideas Challenge and a Finalist in 2013’s Spark $100K Challenge competitions. Spearheaded and campaigned by a passionate team brought together by their personal belief in the importance of celebrating our older generations, our ambition is to have Legacy become an integral change-agent within our community.
