All Star Code
Special Projects Manager
August 2013 — Present
All Star Code is a tech industry prep program for young men of color. ASC attracts, prepares, and places high-potential, qualified young men of color (our "All Stars") in the tech-career pipeline and helps them achieve full-time employment at technology companies early in their careers through education, training, mentorship and placements.
I have been working with All Star Code, in their early launch stage, to create partnerships with schools and like-minded organizations, to recruit mentors and qualified students, and to build an organizational structure on which we can build for years. I run ASC's social media, and work with our team on legal issues, HR, our mentoring program, marketing, and development.

Benevolence Farm is a non-profit organization based in Orange, Chatham, and Alamance Counties seeking to build and operate a transitional living program for up to 12 women leaving North Carolina prisons on Alamance County farmland. BF's mission is "to provide an opportunity for women leaving prison to live and work on a farm where they grow food, nourish self, and foster community."
I worked with the Benevolence Farm Board to organize our inaugural fundraising and community support event! On October 10th we filled the Haw River Ballroom in Saxpahaw, NC with hundreds of supporters of local agriculture, women, and healthy transition from prison to the greater community. We raised over $20,000 and so much awareness for this amazing and very special organization.
