Community Manager, Freelance

Digital DUMBO cultivates and connects communities at the intersection of digital and culture. We have over 11,000 amazing community members! Here are a few logistics that I run:

Organize monthly social networking and tech industry events with average of 100-500 attendees. Responsibilities include incorporating client partnerships and themes into events, pre-event setup logistics, manage staff and venue communication, promote events through social channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).

Manage and build partnership relationships with brands such as Bud Light Platinum, Pop Chips, iRobot, Bulldog Gin, and Red Jacket Orchards.

Engage with (50,000+) community members across digital channels. Daily responsibilities include developing content calendars, responsive messaging, community support, and reporting on growth and engagement.

NY Creative Interns

Speaker Coordinator; Social Media and Events Volunteer

NY Creative Interns, is the largest Meetup for college students and recent grads in New York City. Here we host incredible events, giving our community the chance to meet incredible professionals, get career advice, and make new friends.

Handle all Speaker Coordination for bi-annual Find & Follow Your Passion Conference. Assist in initial paperwork, session scheduling, pre-conference details, hosting meet and greet event, and any on site event logistic.

Engage with our Social community at events, including running Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on behalf of NY Creative Interns brand. Duties include: content creation, monitoring and responding to community, and reporting on growth and engagement.

Established a micro-community of NY Creative Interns speaker alumni, by curating a custom monthly speaker newsletter which acts as a means of networking, communication, and professional collaboration.

Flavorpill Productions

Advertising Sales/ Project Management Intern

Project Management:

Neighborhood Bar Guides // Client: Amstel Light:

Curated neighborhood bar guides in 5 of our major cities. After all 5 cities were curated Flavorpill and Amstel Light hosted a series of happy hours. Kicking things off in Brooklyn I was also able to assist in event production.

Art of Yoga Series // Client: Naked:

Supported event strategy at Flavorpill’s Art of Yoga Series, through promotion coordination, press releases, and contest management resulting in 1,000 attendees with over 5,000 entries.

Daily responsibilities included: maintaining a calendar of important launch dates and flights, campaign execution from beginning proposal stages to promotional coordination, correspondence between clients and contacts, develop collateral materials, maintain guest list, and event assistance.

Ad Sales:

Learned first hand about ad spaces, custom sales products and scheduling for deliverables, quality assurance testing, writing and editing copy for mailers, development and brainstorm sessions for RFP's.

Competitor research:

Conducted weekly competitor research for the Sales team at Flavorpill, as a means to measure key competitor sites, campaigns, and potential advertisers to gain a competitive edge.

Lomographic Society International

Public Relations Intern

Being a lover of photography. An opportunity arose in one of my favorite companies in NYC, Lomography. Coming out of Event Management I wanted to take on Public Relations with the company, while still dabbling in the production and planning of events.

What drew me to Lomography was all their photography events I would frequently attend. Throughout my internship I was able to assist with future events and coordination. From pre-planning to promotions of events, I was responsible for a 30% increase in publicity, due to community and press outreach.

On the PR side, daily tasks included, writing press releases and product samples, maintaining PR clip book, event assistance, brainstorming and creating pitch ideas for upcoming press proposals, product launches, and future partnerships.

Guggenheim Museum

Special Events Intern

After graduating from college I moved to NYC to take an internship with the Guggenheim Museum within the Special Events Department.

During my internship I assisted with coordinating and managing all in house events, including pre-event planning for all corporate and private events as well as exhibit openings. Conducted research for potential sponsors and vendors for events. Aided with administrative duties such as mailing event invitations, organizing the Guggenheim’s event files, and answering phone/email inquires from members, sponsors, and clients.
